The App enables users to scan barcodes and send collected data to a web-based portal for centralized tracking and monitoring. This enhances operational efficiency by providing real-time visibility into product movement, inventory updates, and scanned product history.
Organizations can subscribe to the web application, where an administrator can create and manage user accounts. Individual users can also subscribe to utilize the App independently for their own barcode scanning and tracking needs.
Information We Collect
DevoScan does not collect or store personal information. The App only gathers and transmits specific data necessary for its functionality:
- Barcode Data: The barcode number scanned by the user.
- User ID: A unique identifier associated with the logged-in user (created by the admin for organizations, or self-created for individual users).
- Location Data: The approximate geographic location of the user when scanning a barcode (only if permission is granted by the user).
- Timestamp: The date and time when the barcode was scanned.
This data is securely transmitted to a MySQL database, accessible only by authorized administrators of the respective organization or the individual account holder.
How We Use Your Information
The collected data is used solely for business and operational purposes, including:
- Tracking barcode scan activity across different locations.
- Associating scanned barcodes with users and timestamps for accurate reporting.
- Enabling company administrators to review scan history for inventory management and logistics.
- Supporting businesses in monitoring product movement, deliveries, and stock levels.
We do not use the collected data for advertising, marketing, or any purpose beyond the intended functionality of the App.
Permissions Required & Their Purpose
To function effectively, DevoScan requires the following permissions:
- Camera Access: Used exclusively for scanning barcodes. The App does not use the camera for any other purpose.
- Location Access: Used to capture the approximate location of the user when a barcode is scanned. This helps businesses track inventory movement and location-based scanning activities
The App does not request access to contacts, messages, photos, or any other sensitive personal data.
Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect collected data, ensuring it is securely stored and transmitted. All data transfers between the App and our servers are encrypted, and access is restricted to authorized administrators only.
Data Sharing and Disclosure

User Rights and Control
- For Organizations: User accounts are created and managed by company administrators. Users cannot delete or modify collected data but can review their scan history.
